What We Believe About the Way Real Estate Should Be Done

This is not a list of services. It is the set of convictions that shapes every decision we make at Foundry Group — how we work, who we hire, and why we built this team the way we did.
McKelle Siebert  |  August 5, 2026

Every brokerage has a mission statement. Most of them say roughly the same thing; client-focused, results-driven, integrity always. The words are fine. The problem is that words without specifics aren't commitments. They're decoration.

What follows are the actual beliefs and convictions that drive how we work at Foundry. Not aspirations. Not marketing language. The things we return to when a decision is hard and we need a foundation.

We believe real estate should never feel transactional to the client

A home is the largest financial decision most people make. The person selling it is often leaving behind years of their life. The person buying it is making a bet on what the next chapter looks like. None of that is a transaction.

When we talk about serving clients well, we mean being fully present for the weight of what they're actually going through; not just processing their paperwork quickly and moving on to the next file. The market will produce buyers and sellers regardless of how we show up. The question is whether the people in the middle of it feel taken care of. That's the standard we hold ourselves to.

We believe agents do their best work when they're fully supported

An agent carrying the full administrative weight of every transaction simultaneously is an agent who is mentally somewhere else during every client interaction. They are tracking deadlines, chasing signatures, and managing logistics in the back of their mind while trying to be present for the person in front of them.

We built Foundry's operations infrastructure because we believe the transaction coordination, the deadline tracking, the document routing; none of that belongs in an agent's head. It belongs in a system. When the system handles the logistics, the agent gets to focus on the relationship. That's the whole idea.

We believe integrity is not a differentiator; it's the baseline

Every agent who has ever handed over a key has called themselves trustworthy. We don't think integrity is something worth marketing. We think it's the price of entry.

What we do hold as a standard: telling clients things they might not want to hear when those things are true. Recommending a client not buy a home when the numbers don't work, even when we could close the deal. Letting a seller know the hard facts of listing their home accurately even when the seller's expectations are higher than the market will support. The relationship is long, it extends well past closing day; and it is built on whether the person on the other side of the table can trust that what we're telling them is the honest picture.

We believe who you work with on a team matters as much as the team itself

We are not trying to be the largest team in Utah County. We are trying to be the team where agents do their best work and clients get their best experience; and we believe those two things are connected, because they always are.

That means we recruit agents slowly and deliberately. It means the people here share a commitment to the work that goes beyond commission splits and production goals. It means the culture is something we protect rather than something we're willing to settle for for volume.

A small team of agents who genuinely care about the same things serves clients better than a team of twenty who don't.

We believe the community we work in is worth paying attention to

Real estate is a local business. The neighborhoods we sell homes in, the cities our clients are choosing between, the developments going up around those homes; all of it matters to the people we represent. We try to pay attention to it the way a good neighbor would.

That means tracking what's being built and what's being proposed. It means knowing what the general plan says about where a specific corridor is headed. It means sharing that information with our clients whether or not it directly helps us close a deal, because the relationship is the point, not the transaction.

We believe the work is worth doing well

There are easier ways to run a real estate business than the way we run ours. Faster onboarding, lighter systems, less time spent on infrastructure. The result is a leaner operation and a lower standard of client experience.

We chose the harder version intentionally. The systems we've built, the onboarding process we run, the operations layer we maintain; none of it was fast or cheap to create. It exists because we think the work of helping someone buy or sell a home deserves to be done with real care, not just competent execution.

If you're a client who is looking for that kind of team, or an agent who wants to do the work at that level, we'd love to talk. Reach out to Foundry Group.

FAQ

What does Foundry Group believe about client service in real estate?

  • Foundry Group operates on the conviction that a real estate transaction is never just a transaction — it's one of the most significant decisions in a person's life. The standard we hold is that every client should feel genuinely taken care of throughout the process, not just efficiently processed. That means being honest when things are difficult, being present during what can be a stressful experience, and maintaining the relationship well past closing day.

What makes Foundry Group different from other real estate teams in Utah County?

  • The operational infrastructure we've built, the deliberate way we recruit agents, and the conviction that agent support and client experience are directly connected. We are not trying to be the largest team in Utah County. We are trying to be the team where the work is done at the highest level — which requires being selective about who joins, investing in systems that free agents to focus on relationships, and holding a standard of honesty that goes beyond marketing language.

How does Foundry Group think about integrity in real estate?

  • We don't consider integrity a differentiator. We consider it the baseline — the price of entry. What that looks like in practice: telling clients the honest picture even when it's not what they want to hear, recommending against a purchase when the numbers don't support it, and pricing listings accurately even when seller expectations are above what the market will support. The relationship with a client extends well past closing, and it depends entirely on whether they can trust what we tell them.

Why did McKelle Siebert build Foundry Group the way she did?

  • After a decade in real estate, McKelle kept seeing agents operating in systems that weren't designed for them, and clients receiving service that reflected that structural failure. Foundry was built infrastructure-first — with the transaction management system, the operations layer, and the onboarding process in place before agents were recruited — because the belief is that agents who are fully supported do fundamentally better work for clients.

Does Foundry Group work with clients who are buying or selling in Utah County?

  • Yes. Foundry Group works with buyers, sellers, and investors across Utah County, with particular depth in Lehi, American Fork, Highland, Alpine, Lindon, Pleasant Grove, Saratoga Springs, and the broader northern Utah County corridor. Reach out to Foundry Group to start a conversation about your specific situation.

What kind of agents does Foundry Group recruit?

  • Agents who share the same conviction about what good real estate looks like — who care about clients beyond the transaction, who want to operate within a well-built system rather than rebuild the wheel themselves, and who are looking for a team where the culture is something worth protecting. Production matters less to us than the right values and the willingness to do the work at a high level.
